Early in our growth we used contractors to produce our products using Hansen tools."We had all sorts of problems", recalls Bert Hansen. "Things really turned around when we bought our first moulding machine". We export to Australia, Europe, North America, Asia and Papua New Guinea and are building strong markets in these areas. Our forecast is to double our output over the next two years.
A transition from the old to the new. This early Foot Valve was manufactured by Hansen Products in the 1950's and relaunched as a part of the new Valves range of plastic fittings in 1996. Hansen's valves and pipe fittings have been working for New Zealanders for over 40 years and are winning a world market. It all started in the 1950's. Bert Hansen was building a house and couldn't find a reliable toilet valve. Bert, an engineer, invented one and from there Hansen Products has grown through similar new inventions such as our Polythene Pipe Fitting. The founder's son Carl Hansen, an engineer, is now Technical Director of the company. Growth based on innovative design that meets market needs is continued under the direction of Graeme Kerr, Managing Director. Hansen Products plant is located in the northern part of New Zealand in Whangarei city. Whangarei has a stable labour force that permits Hansen to maintain its internal technical skills and quality standards that have been built up over the years.
